Pod Entertainers

Pod’s team of 24 professional children’s entertainers are chosen for their sensitivity and ability to engage with children and young people in hospital. They are mostly magicians because magic appeals to all ages, they are usually balloon modellers, they often have puppets, but most of all they are full of fun and totally committed to Pod’s belief that happy children get better quicker. They love their hospital visits and work for Pod for a modest fee of £50 per session.

Entertainers’ fees are Pod’s only cost. All other costs are paid by Pod’s League of Friends, a separate and privately financed charity which means every penny donated is spent on cheering up children in hospital. All entertainers have enhanced DBS disclosures and follow Pod’s Child Protection, Safeguarding and Infection Control Guidelines.

Pod Trustees

Pod Charitable Trust is governed by a board of voluntary trustees. All administrative costs including entertainers’ travelling expenses, are financed by an entirely separate charity, The League of Friends of Pod Charitable Trust (Reg. 296119). This means all Pod’s funds are spent on entertaining children in hospital.
